FLYNT GET LOOSE AND COLOURFUL FOR HMV LIVE & LOCAL GIG

By Amy Wright – ‘Be You MUSIC PR’.

Northern brewed Indie-Pop band FLYNT originally from Whitehaven are gearing themselves up for an exciting and supportive Gig at HMV Workington Saturday, October 23 as part of HMV’s Live & Local sessions.

Think Paramore mixed with The Ting Tings along with a happy bubble-gum pop vibe and you’ve got FLYNT.

Be You MUSIC PR caught up with FLYNT Bass player Calvin to chat about their upcoming gig, BBC Music Introducing, and set insights:

“We are especially looking forward to performing ‘Need You’. It’s a song we wrote & recorded over the last 18 months, and now we can get together to play it. Pre lockdowns we found that the nitty-gritty details and characteristics of a song came through gigging it a few times however, with ‘Need You’ we had no choice but to flip our typical workflow. It almost seemed quite intimidating at first, but I think it led us on a new and exciting step forward”.

The latest Single ‘Need You’ got Track of The Week (04/10/2021) on BBC Introducing North West in Cumbria and got everyone excited “We were thrilled to have our latest song as Track of The Week and BBC Introducing have been really supportive of our music. The Excitement of tuning into the radio and hearing your band being played is fantastic and it genuinely doesn’t lose its buzz”.

Kicking off their return to live gigs, HMV Workington reached out to FLYNT, and they couldn’t be more grateful “We’re going for a ‘Jam in the Van’ kind of vibe for Saturday in-store just with it being in a slightly different space than usual. It will be a stripped-back, colourful, fun set”.

Band Members are:

Emma Dockeray – Lead Vocals

Brad Kavanagh – Vocals and Guitar

Steven Norman – Drums

Calvin Thornborrow – Bass
